Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a personal trainer for over 8 years where I create safe and effective exercise routines for my clients to reach their goals. This is more than a career to me, it’s my passion to help my clients make little changes in their lives to transform into lifelong habits.

Why train with me?

Have you ever heard the phrase “exercise is medicine?” Well it is true! I have a passion to help prevent and manage chronic diseases. Heart disease, type II diabetes, and some cancers are all chronic diseases that can be prevented with a regular exercise routine and nutrition. Some chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol may be common in adults. These chronic conditions can also lead to chronic disease. I have worked with clients who have went to the doctor and was told to start an exercise routine to control these conditions or they would be put on medication. After working with me for a few months, the clients’ high blood pressure and/or cholesterol was lowered with regularly coming to the gym to workout! Every client has a different goal, and I am here to help you reach that goal. Before signing up for training, I will schedule a free consultation to go over goals, health history, and go through a workout to see if we are a good fit! No commitment is needed for the consultation, so give it a try!

Credentials

I believe it is important to do your research when it comes to hiring a trainer. Along with my 8+ years experience with personal training, here is my education:

  • Masters in Public Health from Slippery Rock University in 2020

  • Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University 2016

  • Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

  • Certified Pre & Postnatal Coach through Girls Gone Strong (GGS)

  • ASHI CPR/AED & First Aid (Safeguard CPR Training Services)

What i offer

  • In Person 1-on-1 Training

    Personal training is more than a job to me, it’s my passion! I am so fortunate to call this my career. I love the relationships I build with my clients and seeing how their progress in the gym helps them outside of the lifting sessions. Every client is truly their own individual, which is why I love the 1-on-1 in person setting. This allows me to focus on your own goals and past health history to be able to enjoy the workout and be pushed at an appropriate rate. The in person 1-on-1 setting also allows me direct feedback to help you use the appropriate weights for certain exercises and correct form as you are performing the set.

    I offer two types of plans for in person training: a monthly subscription or to buy a training package. The subscription is month to month, no contract, where your receive a set number of sessions per month. The sessions rollover each month so you do not lose sessions if you go on vacation or travel for work! The training package is a one time fee, but you can continue to buy multiple packages if you use up your sessions! We will go over details and pricing of each at the free consultation depending on how many times per week you want to train.

    If you have a family member or friend you wanted to share a training session with, I also offer training 2 people at a time! This will cost more than a regular 1-on-1 session, but be a discount for 2 people together. You can ask more about this when you reach out for your free consultation!

  • Online Training

    Not everyone lives near Wexford. To accommodate clients farther away not being able to make in person training, I have two online options for you to get your workouts in on your own, but with the programming and accountability from a personal trainer! You can receive the training plans right to your phone for convenience to take to the gym or follow at home!

    OPTION 1: Receive a 6 week customized workout program with the exercise, sets, reps, description of the exercise and videos! This is a completely customized program meaning the program will be make catered to you once we discuss you goals and health history. Since this is individualized, the exercises are picked based on a gym setting, home setting, or partial equipment available to you! This is a one time fee, but you can get a new 6 week program once the previous is finished if you wish to purchase again.

    OPTION 2: Month to month subscription plan (no contract) with a month of workouts and bi-weekly check ins. The check in helps keep you more accountable if you need this option, which most clients find very helpful!

    The online training option is great if you live too far away from Steel City Fortitude Fitness, your work schedule does not accommodate making training appointments, or you like to workout on your own and just need a plan to follow!

  • This PDF guide was created to help new moms after giving birth a safe and effective start to starting a workout routine or getting back to a workout routine. I go over the appropriate weeks to rest and begin working out. You will learn about Diastasis Recti with self assessment and the connection breath to active the core and pelvic floor muscles. You will receive a mobility routine along with 2 exercise routines. The exercises are perfect to do at home since the exercises are either body weight or using a resistance band.

  • Most moms are sent home with the baby with not much education on what to do for their own bodies after recovering from having a baby. With my knowledge of being a certified pre & postnatal coach from the Girls Gone Strong Academy, I wanted to simplify easing back to working out in the postpartum phase.
